The Archdiocese of Newark is lifting COVID-19 restrictions on using a shared chalice for Communion and holy water in the Catholic churches it oversees in four New Jersey counties just prior to Easter Sunday services.

The changes for parishes in Bergen, Essex, Hudson and Union counties start on Holy Thursday, April 6, the Archdiocese of Newark said. The changes must be implemented no later than Pentecost on May 28, it said in a statement. Uniform Fabric
