El surfista Steve Bruemmer resultó gravemente herido en el ataque de un tiburón en Pacific Grove el miércoles

Surgieron nuevas imágenes de un heroico esfuerzo de rescate para salvar a un surfista que sangraba mucho y que era arrastrado a la orilla después de que lo atacara un tiburón en la costa de California.
Según los informes, Steve Bruemmer quedó con un fémur roto y sangrando por lesiones en el estómago y el brazo después de que lo mordiera un tiburón en Lover's Point en Pacific Grove, el miércoles por la mañana.
El vídeo obtenido por KSBW 8 muestra a un grupo que va a ayudar a Bruemmer después de que un par de “héroes” lo sacaron a la orilla.
Se puede ver a Bruemmer acostado en una tabla larga mientras lo llevan hacia la playa, y poco después llegan los rescatistas para administrar los primeros auxilios.
El oficial de policía de Sacramento, Paul Bandy, y su esposa llamaron al 911 después de ver a Bruemmer tener dificultades en el agua y se lanzaron al mar para llevarlo de vuelta a la orilla.
“Pedía ayuda a gritos, se notaba el sonido y la emoción en su voz de que definitivamente algo andaba mal y golpeaba el agua”, le contó Bandy a KSBW 8.
“No estaba seguro de si había algo que él quería alejar o solo trataba de llamar la atención”.
Otro rescatista, Heath Braddock, le dijo a KSBW 8 que daba clases de surf en la playa cuando escuchó que un surfista estaba en problemas.

“Tomamos mi tabla más grande y el caballero, Paul, me ayudó a hacer rodar a la víctima sobre la tabla boca abajo y lo mantuvo centrado y estable. Le pedimos que sostuviera mi comida y lo llevamos remando”.
A Bruemmer, miembro de un club de natación local y maestro jubilado, lo trasladaron más tarde al Centro Médico Natividad en Salinas con lesiones en la pierna y el estómago.
Desde entonces, la playa lleva cerrada 48 horas.
